Ever 20 min. for me. I wear a backpack with water, or drop waters along the way. Added the Gatorade starting at 8 miles, but had a gel at 1 hour. hydration and electrolytes = check! :)Happy Feet 26.2https://www.blogger.com/profile/07319635538117315117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080856887174526132.post-58776690377662760222011-07-23T15:58:34.491-05:002011-07-23T15:58:34.491-05:00Hah, I can do a one-handed one for like, 10 minute...Hah, I can do a one-handed one for like, 10 minutes. Kidding. That is awesome Ginny. You must have some big "guns".

BTW, seems you didn't bring much to drink on that brutal run. You went back for a "sip" of Gatorade after 8 miles! You don't need to reply, but if that's true, then please think about a hand bottle.Chris Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06670072457969152936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080856887174526132.post-28943948746211083712011-07-22T09:39:12.370-05:002011-07-22T09:39:12.370-05:00Ha! Simplicity is good! I agree with Jennifer - ...Ha! Simplicity is good! I agree with Jennifer - if you would've finished your 14 miler, you would have been too tired for the handstand. No worries about cutting a run short - it is only one day and you've got so many days and so many miles in your legs, it's fine. It was your body sending a message and you wisely listened. That 'run-cut-short' may make the difference between becoming injured or not. Tomorrow is a new day (albeit a hot one, for you!). Awesome on the handstand - I think I might hurt myself attempting that at this point (or something like a cartwheel - LOL!).HappyTrailshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17651141743444721517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080856887174526132.post-50489873132604907722011-07-21T11:54:59.315-05:002011-07-21T11:54:59.315-05:00great job - you are awesome!! keep it up!great job - you are awesome!! keep it up!Emily @ Journey to the Center of Manhattanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02723773872481493352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080856887174526132.post-461992752443774162011-07-20T20:36:56.222-05:002011-07-20T20:36:56.222-05:00What, no pictures of the handstand? I saw a guy at the gym yesterday doing in a handstand position doing pushups. All I could think of was how I couldn't even do a handstand anymore to save my life! And I'm not sure I should even try - ha.

I'm not sure how you run 1 mile in heat. I know you are acclimated more than wimpy me but this heat stuff really zaps your strength!! I also say that its better to have a bad run during training rather than having a bad run during whatever race you're training for.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09956724450988998624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080856887174526132.post-44136983666894538932011-07-20T09:09:04.420-05:002011-07-20T09:09:04.420-05:00Yay! Anyway, everything works out in the end.

I have been making plans for the 1 mile challenge and want to do some practice runs. Probably weekday morning, on the Trace at Jackson Rd. I don't want to do it on the track, I want to run it in a straight line. What do you think?Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13061231036755945077noreply@blogger.com
