I had my flu shot this week, so I'm hoping to go to Baton Rouge stronger than ever before.
Pics from my run today in MS
Had to take a pic of the greenery today. When I started running today, it was 40 degrees, so the green grass will soon fade to brown.
I love these country roads that I run!
6.5 miles on the Longleaf trail
Clyde Depot @ The Longleaf Rails to Trails
My week:
Monday - 9 miles (7 miles with Terri - fun!) with 10 X 30 second sprints at the end & Supreme 90 day (S90D)
Tues. - 15 miles @ 9:28 avg & S90D
Wed. - yoga @ The Yoga Room & 7 miles @ 10:20 avg., recovery run
Thurs. - 12 miles on rolling hills, first 5 with Kelly, and then 7 miles of tempo @ 8:10 avg. I had planned to run the tempo by heart rate today - goal 160 - but my legs said otherwise. Couldn't get the heart rate up - AHR - 152 & S90D (ice bath)
Fri. - 6.5 miles with Jen on the Longleaf trail, 10:35 avg
Sat. - 21 at 9:15 avg. I averaged 9:22 pace up until 18, the last 3 miles I picked up the pace - 8:54, 8:21, 8:16. (ice bath)
Will have a little test of my current fitness next Sat. in Mobile, AL at my MOST favorite of all 10k, the Senior Bowl 10k. I'm hoping the cold weather is around next weekend at 8:00 am. I'm ready to RACE!
I'm still plan to share some of the Nova Scotia pictures, soon. In the meantime, the one at the top of the blog is Cape Breton, NS - beautiful, even when cloudy.

It has been a while and wow! look at you! It's wonderful to hear how succesful you've been with your running and eating and S90D - I've just been on their website to take a look. It certainly looks impressive - how long would you say each workout took? And what was your base like before you started on the 55-70 mile per week program? I've always done the up to 55 miles one but am contemplating the higher mileage for April.
You've done so well!
Things are getting better and better for you, right?
I truly believe some people do really well with high mileage, while other with more quality. I am testing the high mileage part right now.
Awesome job!
Holy cow! What an amazing week for you Ginny. I could tell when we were running that you seem so confident and strong. Great to see that! I hope it rubs off a little on me! BTW excellent picture of Cape Breton. I love the misty feel of it. Cheers!
NS and MS are pretty! I'm working on increasing miles now - 55 miles last week. What a fast 21 you ran! I want to do that, too!
Wow, you really seem like you are in a great place! So glad the high mileage thing is working for you..I'm not sure how I'll handle it. The Jillian video I'm doing is called Jillian Michael's Trouble Zones. Love it!!! I will have to try her Yoga one.
I'm completely impressed by your mega miles! Way to go! The pics of your running routes are beautiful! Don't you just love this time of year?!

Nice mileage! It's so great that you have figured out what works best for you. Can't wait to see what you do on race day.

BEAUTIFUL fall pictures!!! 70 mile week = amazing!!! You are my hero :)
Man Ginny! You really have all your ducks in a row here! Congrats on the miles, the awesome commitment to Supreme 90, the weight loss!!! You are setting yourself up perfectly here!! I'm moving upwards in my miles here too, not at risk of hitting my key workouts but I do think the miles will serve me well!
Yay on the 10K. I love your racing attitude. So inspiring to me! Best of luck to you!!
I looked at those first three pictures and thought - oh what a wonderful place to run... and then realized where you were!! I live there!! hahahaha!! Nice going there girl!!!
Such a beautiful area you live in - we enjoy the lovely pics - keep'em coming! Glad you have found your perfect training mix - isn't that a great feeling? I have always done best with a 'less is more' approach. Isn't it neat how unique all of our bodies work to achieve similar goals? :-)
