Opinions NEEDED today!

So I'm in the typical pre-marathon quandary of what to wear on race day.  Actually, most of the time, I know what to wear because most of my marathons have been on the WARM side of things.  Today, I think I know what to do, but wanted to get some "racers" opinions.

As of this am, the forecast is as follows:

It will be mostly CLOUDY and humidity around 50%.
36 degrees at race start with a real feel temp. of 32 degrees
For my final hour of running it will be around 48 degrees with a real feel of 44 degrees.
I mention cloudy because cloudy and 36, feels much colder to me than sunny and 36.

So the question of the day is.....
Would you wear, shorts or tights?

So very excited to be in this particular dilemma.

(I'm very COLD-natured, except for my running.  For running I like it chilly.  So I'm excited about Sat.  Just need to figure out what to wear, ha!)

I say shorts, disposable gloves, tech long sleeve, possibly a compression short sleeve under long sleeve tech, just my opinion

I've never worn tights, but it is kinda strange how the legs and bottom half of the body can take the cold so much better than the upper half. I am one of those people that wear the goofy big black garbage bag with my head poked through. This really helps stay warm and cuts the wind while waiting around for the race to begin. I say......shorts.

I'm in the same quandary. I've got everything from wool running shirt and tights with a shell to shorts and a compression T. And even after a short run this morning in the same conditions, I can't figure out what I'll be doing.

I'll be in gloves, that's for sure, simply because my hands freeze no matter what, but everything else is up in the air.

Wondering how much rain is going to come down?

Shorts – with a pair of compression shorts under them. Tube socks with the toes cut out for arm warmers. A throw away sweat shirt or garbage bag for the starting line. Cheap cotton garding gloves. I would rather be cold for the first few miles than cooked for the last few. 50 degrees will be warm after 20 miles.

Good luck!

I don't wear tights, ever, in any run over 25 degrees. As you're not used to wearing them, they might really bother you so I'd say NO to tights.

GOOD LUCK, GINNY!!! I'm so excited for you (and those hills are WIMPY - you are way tougher than those rolling hills girl, you can do it piece o cake!!). I'll be cheering you on here in Denver - and just pretend I'm there the last 6 making you not slow down, ok? I'm right there on your shoulder, "Come on Ginny, you know you can do it. Don't give up, don't slow down..." That's my voice you'll be hearing!!

In a training run, I'd go with capri's in those temps. In a marathon, however, shorts and long sleeves. GOOD LUCK!!!

I would wear shorts mostly because I don't mind running in cold. I might wear long sleeve (or short sleave with arm warmers). It seems that the finish will be great weather for running. Good luck!

Since we have been running in those temps regularly lately (and colder), I would go with shorts (or skirt!), light wool long sleeve with a wicking tee on top. And don't forget your Drymax socks! :-) If you think you might get cold, you could always do knickers instead of shorts. Tights would definitely be overkill for me!

I'm always cold, not sure how helpful mu advise is: I would wear tights, a short sleeve shirt and a long sleeve shirt, which you can throw away if needed. Good luck!!

Ok, shorts it is, but it's crazy, overnight the weather changed. It's 44 degrees now, so 100% shorts with no debate. Thanks for your responses, so helpful.
